Mark Evens has an extensive background in mergers & acquisitions, strategic alliances, new business development and has launched, developed and sold several mid sized companies.

Mr. Evens was President, Sales Development Group - facilitator of strategic media/marketer alliances, Senior Vice President of Scholastic Corporation responsible for all corporate funded educational programs grades K-12. Evens served as Vice President of LIN Broadcasting as Executive Vice President responsible for: mergers & acquisitions, strategic alliances, sales and marketing. Mr. Evens founded developed and divested interest in Sponsorship Marketing, Direct Magazine and Catalog Advertising Sales.

Additionally, Mr. Evens is Principal of Mark One, an executive search practice commissioned to conduct searches for power generation equipment manufacturers, Utility, Independent Power Producers, alternate energy companies, EPC and telecommunication firms.

Mr. Evens:

  • Was responsible for the acquisition of 5 major media properties whose total value exceeded $100 million.
  • Launched a minority home mortgage initiative supported and partnered with major Hispanic media venues and the Chase Manhattan Bank.
  • Orchestrated licensing agreements for e-learning and digital content standards with Scholastic, Novartis A.G., the US Department of Defense and General Dynamics.
  • Initiated and negotiated a multi million dollars sales representation agreement between Mp3.com and Interep Radio Sales. Created and developed and executed the business model to introduce MP3.Retail Music Services to the meetings, conventions and exhibition industry as well as to our nation's mega shopping malls.
  • Launched Educational Marketing Division for Scholastic, America's largest education publisher, to develop corporate and government sponsored educational initiatives directed to both students and educators. Clients included Apple Computer, IBM, ATT&T, NBC and American Express. Division operated at 20%+ margins, billing in excess of $40 million. Created profitable strategic partnerships supporting education initiatives for: R.R. Donnelley, Modern Talking Pictures, and Field Enterprises.
  • Directed launch of regional Nevada Golf Magazine and golf driving range Supply Company.
  • Founded, published and divested America's first consumer magazine for mail order shoppers. Raised $2.8 million through a limited partnership.

Mr. Evens is a graduate of the University of Illinois and holds advanced management certification from both the University of Virginia and Harvard Business Schools.

Mr. Evens is a board member of the American Red Cross and founder of the Southern Nevada Inner City Golf Youth Foundation.
